West Bay Yacht Club Racing

Racing has always been a pillar of the West Bay Yacht Club, and in our 50th Anniversary year, the tradition is stronger than ever. Our club is built on the energy, camaraderie, and competitive spirit that come alive on race nights. All WBYC racing is conducted under PHRF rules, ensuring fair, exciting, and inclusive competition for sailors of all skill levels.

Whether you’re a seasoned skipper, a casual sailor, or completely new to the sport, our Spin and Non-Spin fleets offer a welcoming environment and some of the best sailing on Narragansett Bay.

Summer Regatta Series –  10 Weeks of Monday Night Racing

Our flagship program and the highlight of every season. The Summer Series features 10 consecutive Monday night regattas with separate Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker classes. It’s the perfect blend of competition, fun, and warm evening breezes on the bay.

Fall Regatta Series – 4 Weeks of Monday Night Racing

As the breeze sharpens and the days grow cooler, the racing continues with our four-week Fall Series. Both Spin and Non-Spin divisions compete in some of the most enjoyable conditions of the entire season.

New to Racing? Want to Join a Crew?

No boat? No problem! The WBYC fleet is always looking for enthusiastic crew — from experienced racers to first-timers eager to learn. Sailing is a team sport, and many boats rely on extra hands for Monday night racing and our annual events.

If you want to get involved, we will happily help connect you with a boat that needs crew. Fill out the following form and our club will match you with a skipper.
